JULY SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: BOOK NOW!
Holiday group/ friendship sessions: These sessions cater for and are inclusive of children and young adults of all abilities and diverse needs. Sessions are run by therapists who are specialists in catering for neurodivergent individuals. All sessions will incorporate the participants’ unique interests and will cater for their sensory requirements.
The groups will be run by Susan (Specialist Therapist), alongside specialist artists and teachers from the Blue Mountains. The participant costs of the group will be billed to NDIS (self or plan managed). There may be an additional cost for materials, for some of the sessions. Participants are welcome to come with a support worker if they require 1:1 support in a group setting, otherwise the ratio of support will be 1:3 or 4 participants, with a maximum of 12 in each group.
Participants will be required to bring their own food and drink and anything individual that they require for their emotional and sensory regulation.
Games / Social Connections Group
Age: approximately 7 years- young adult
Susan, from Inclusive Student Support Services, will facilitate the inside games and social connections group. There will be board games and card games setup and lego stations. Susan works 1:1 with clients in private practice and also teaches children and young adults the skills for social connection through small friendship sessions. There will also be support workers onsite to assist participants.
You will be required to bring:
Your own favourite board game or card game if you have one
Cooking Class and Food Exploration
Age: approximately 7 years- young adult
Susan, from Inclusive Student Support Services, will facilitate the exploring, making, cooking and smelling/tasting/eating of food. Susan works 1:1 with clients in private practice and also supports children and young adults with food and related sensory sensitivities.
There will be other support workers onsite to assist participants.
You will be required to bring:
An apron
Tea towel
Takeaway container
Mixing bowl
Measuring cup
Measuring spoons
Creative Workshop
Age: Parents/ carers and their children
Peter Burger is a trained teacher and exhibiting artist who is based in the Blue Mountains. Go to #peterburgerart on instagram to see some more of his work! He will be supporting participants to explore their creativity. Susan will be there to assist participants as required (and explore her own creativity), as Peter shares his skills.
We will walk away with one art piece (or more), that we have created.
Peter is also be offering small group and 1:1 sessions for both clients and their parents throughout the term.
Sensory Workshop
Age: approximately 5 years- young adult
Susan, from Inclusive Student Support Services, will facilitate the exploring, making, smelling and playing with sensory items such as playdoh and slime. You will get to take home the recipes and your creations! Susan works 1:1 with clients in private practice and also supports children and young adults with related sensory sensitivities.
There will be other support workers onsite to assist participants.
You will be required to bring:
An apron
Tea towel
Takeaway container
Mixing bowl
Measuring cup
Measuring spoons
Outdoor Exploration
Age: Approximately 7-13 years
Susan, from Inclusive Student Support Services, loves to be outdoors in the Blue Mountains. This group will be exploring a local bushwalk (to be announced close to the date). There will be moments of mindfulness ‘sprinkled’ along the way and friendships will be fostered.
Susan works 1:1 with clients in private practice and also supports children and young adults with related sensory sensitivities.
You will be required to bring/ wear:
A hat
A raincoat
Comfortable walking shoes
A snack and water
Pottery Group
Age: approximately 7 years - young adult
Local artist Deb, has more than 30 years experience in creating beautiful pottery pieces. She pre-prepares the clay and then fires and glazes the pieces that the participants make.

Painting Workshop
Age: Approximately 10 years - young adult
Peter Burger is a trained teacher and exhibiting artist who is based in the Blue Mountains. Go to #peterburgerart on instagram to see some more of his work! He will be teaching participants to enjoy paint and colour. Susan and Leigh (Peter’s wife), who has over 30 years of experience as a teacher of children with complex needs, will be supporting the clients, as Peter shares his skills. Participants will walk away with an art piece they have created- that you will want to frame! In the future,
Peter will also be offering small group and 1:1 sessions for both clients and their parents.
Preschool Mindfulness and Yoga
Age: Approximately 3-5 years (with parent or carer)
Susan, from Inclusive Student Support Services, will facilitate the mindfulness and yoga session. Susan is not a certified yoga instructor but has been practising yoga for 10+ years. She also does mindfulness and yoga exercises, in sessions with her clients, and has taught classes of preschool and primary school aged children mindfulness and yoga for over 10 years. This group incorporates the latest research on evidence-based practice for children, whilst having loads of fun doing it!
You will be required to bring:
A yoga mat (if you have one)
